Sheltered beneath thatched canopies, Gorah’s 11 tented suites are luxurious and spacious, recalling the golden era of safari in the early 1900s, and enhanced with the fine comforts and excellence associated with Hunter properties.

Each luxury tent has an en-suite bathroom with shower, an interior relaxation area and a private deck offering panoramic views across the endless savannah plains. Other facilities include solar-powered lights, ceiling fans and in-house communication between the tents and the Main House.

Inside the Lodge guests can find a quiet spot in one of the lounges, page through a book in the library, relax at the pool or take in the view from the magnificent deck which overhangs the river. Unique features include excellent river fishing and crabbing.

Nestled on the banks of the Bushman’s River, this Lodge is unique in that it connects a Big-5 game reserve to the sea. Our optional daily boat cruises ferry our guests through the quaint village of Kenton-on-sea to its picturesque and user friendly beaches.

The reserve is accessibly situated 25 minutes outside the charming coastal town of Mossel Bay and a mere 4 hours drive from Cape Town. It shares the areas’ idyllic climate, the second most moderate in the world, and is Malaria-free, offering prime year round game viewing.

The air-conditioned deluxe tented suites with private wooden decks are situated on the river’s edge with stunning views of the river and mountainous surroundings as well as a private jetty from which the guests can try their hand at fishing.

The tented suites are elegantly decorated in colonial style with 4-poster beds and mosquito nets, fully equipped. The en-suite bathroom is lavishly equipped with a deep oval bath and outdoor shower.

The Addo Elephant National Park lies hidden within the vast bushveld of the Eastern Cape. It is here where the evening’s silence is broken by the howl of the black-backed jackal and the francolins’ call marks each new dawn. With uninterrupted views of the Karoo Plains and the Zuurberg Mountains, Kuzuko Lodge lies in a private concession to the north of the Addo Elephant National Park, the third largest national park in South Africa in a malaria-free region.

Guests are housed in 24 luxurious chalets, each with a private deck offering spectacular views of the malaria free Karoo bushveldt of the big five park below. All chalets, three of which are wheelchair accessible, features an en-suite bathroom with bath and walk in shower, mini-bar, tea/coffee making facilities, colour television, direct dialing telephones, wireless internet connectivity and data cable points

Historic Rippon’s Safari Lodge, originally a settlers’ farm, dating from the late 1800s, is perfectly located right next to the spectacular Shamwari Game Reserve. Beacon House is situated within walking distance of the lagoon, a restaurant and a coffee bar and offers ample parking for visitors.

The luxurious 31-roomed Protea Hotel Mossel Bay is a graceful landmark, built in 1846, overlooking Santos Bay and harbour. Nestling on the Mossel Bay shoreline with the majestic Outeniqua mountains as a backdrop, the Protea Hotel Mossel Bay is singled out from other establishments.

The stone walls and Mediterranean-style out-buildings belie the fact that the main building is one of the oldest in Mossel Bay and forms part of the Dias Museum Complex.

The Protea Hotel Mossel Bay complex comprises 31 designer-decorated units, ranging from 23 three star en-suite rooms to eight 4 star self-catering harbour suites. The rooms’ various categories range from standard, family and manor rooms to harbour and presidential suite.

The ever-changing reef offshore guards the coastline and provides contrasting conditions from raging white water to tranquil aqua tidal pools. At low tide, all manner of tidal creatures are to be found - spectacularly coloured sea anemones, comical sand crabs, and for the lucky, maybe even a glimpse of the shy octopus, whales and dolphins.
